The 5th Annual Pub v Parish Cricket Match

THE 5TH ANNUAL PUB V PARISH CRICKET MATCH took place on Sunday 4th September at the playing field in Withersdale. Two teams and many spectators gathered to watch this annual match between the Munnings and the villagers, which once again was full of memorable moments.

One or two batsmen went out for a duck, a bowler proved he hadn't lost his bowling skills, managing to bowl out four people in one over and a very young lad was stumped out, bowled out, caught out (but the catcher dropped it!) and somehow he continued to play!

There were some great catches and some horrendous misses! But most of all, lots of fun and laughter. The Parish retired the winners. Everyone enjoyed a wonderful tea in the hall after the match.

Thanks to all who cut the grass, made the cakes and poured the tea. Thanks also to everyone who took part and to Bev for keeping score.
